Speaker Ayambem wades into Peace Corps palava, receives women delegates

The Speaker Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Elvert Ayambem has promised to use his office to respond to issues concerning the Peace Corps in the State NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

The leading lawmaker made this known when he received the Peace Corps State commandant, Dominic Okweche, who came to pay him a courtesy visit on Wednesday.

Ayambem commended the patience and commitment of the Peace Corps in ensuring safety of the people in Cross River State and Nigeria at large.

He said, “I thank you for coming and welcome you wholeheartedly. I commend you for your patience and commitment towards the safety of the people of Cross River and Nigeria at large.

“I assure you that I will use my office and the entire Assembly to respond to issues concerning the Peace Corps.”

Earlier, Mr Okweche, in his remarks congratulated the him for becoming the Speaker of the 10th Assembly, also appreciated the him for keeping his doors open.

He appealed to the Speaker to help look into the welfare package of Peace Corps members.

 

‘’I’ll Meet Up With Your Expectations”, Speaker Ayambem Assures Women Delegates

Cross River State Speaker, Rt Hon. Elvert Ayambem has extended his appreciation to the Delegation Of Ikom 2 State Constituency Women In Politics for their show of support.

The Speaker, who received a congratulatory portrait from the women wing who came to visit him at the main Chamber, reaffirmed his commitment and dedication to meet up with their expectations.

Ayambem assured women that he will continue to stand with them and work to ensure gender parity in the state.

He insisted that their visit will further create a cordial relationship that will help in promoting the interest of women in the state.

Notable names such as the leaders,Hon.Stella Nkor and Mrs Dorris Ngban, Secretary,Mrs Josephine Ekara.Mrs Patricia Ogbole, Mrs Mary Anoka, Mrs. Vivian Ekara, Mrs. Kate Anoka, and Elizabeth Atanko, Representing all the wards of Ikom 2 State Constituency were all In attendance.
