Nigerian lawmaker Advocates Stronger Digital Transformation Support at IPU 2023 Conference

In a recent statement at the 2023 Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference (IPU) in Hanoi, Vietnam, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, the Nigerian Senate Representative, highlighted Nigeria’s potential to effectively engage and excel in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He emphasized the nation’s significant advantage, driven by its youthful population known for their innovation and technological proficiency NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

Senator Ekpenyong underlined that, despite potentially lagging behind in previous industrial revolutions, Nigeria is poised to lead in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He urged the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to extend support to Nigeria in advancing its Digital Transformation agenda, recognizing the critical role that technology plays in contemporary global affairs.

The IPU, a global organization comprising 179 member countries out of the 193 worldwide, was established in 1889 to promote peace through parliamentary diplomacy and dialogue. Over the years, it has evolved into a powerful platform for parliamentary diplomacy, empowering nations and legislators to champion peace, democracy, and sustainable development on a global scale.
