Security & Peace Advocacy Tour to Foster Investment-Friendly Environment in Bakassi Set for Monday

CalabarIn an effort to enhance security, promote peace, and create a conducive environment for investment and development, an event titled the Security and Peace Advocacy Tour is scheduled by the Office of the Security Adviser -South to the governor of Cross River state, to take place on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. The event which is in line with the government security policy statement, coupled with the People’s First agenda of the executive governor of Cross Rivers state, Prince Bassey Otu, will be held at the Chiefs Chamber in Ikot Efiom, Bakassi Local Government Area, specifically at the palace of the Paramount Ruler NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.

According to Cdr Patrick Odiong Rtd, the primary objective of this event is to sensitize the Bakassi community about the importance of security, safety, peace, and conflict resolution: ‘It represents a collaborative effort between the government and the community to establish a secure and business-friendly atmosphere that attracts investments and fosters development’, he disclosed.

Key stakeholders, including the paramount ruler, clan heads, village heads, youth leaders, and women leaders, will participate in the event. Their collective insights and contributions are vital to the success of this initiative.

The event comes at a crucial time as preparations for the Bakassi Fish Festival on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 26 and 27, 2023, are underway in Ikang, Bakassi. The goal is to create a platform for collaboration between the government and the Bakassi community to ensure a safe, secure, and development-oriented environment.

The tour aims to bring government officials, community leaders, and residents together to engage in constructive discussions and actions that will lead to a brighter future for Bakassi and the Cross River State at large.
