CALABAR— The Cross River State Students Directorate of the City Boy Movement is set to commence a campus-to-campus mobilisation campaign aimed at building support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Bassey Edet Otu and other All Progressives Congress candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The initiative, tagged “Renewed Hope 2.0: Engage! Empower! Consolidate!”, will be formally launched on Friday and Saturday, September 18 and 19, 2026, at the College of Health Technology, Calabar.
According to the organisers, the programme will feature the inauguration and training of campus ambassadors and coordinators who are expected to take the movement’s campaign activities to tertiary institutions across the state.
The organisers said the training would focus on campus-level awareness, coordination and political engagement as the movement prepares for the 2027 elections.
The programme is expected to bring together student leaders, campus and local government ambassadors, state officials and other invited stakeholders.
Among those listed as invited are the Special Adviser to the President on Students Engagement, Hon. Asefon Sunday; the Chief of Staff to the Cross River State Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar; and other officials and leaders associated with the City Boy Movement.
The organisers also listed Associate Professor (Mrs.) Virginia Emmanuel, Ekpenyong Akiba Esq and other stakeholders among those expected to participate in the programme.
The Cross River initiative is part of wider activities by the City Boy Movement ahead of the 2027 elections. The group has previously undertaken grassroots mobilisation activities in the state, including an awareness rally in the Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency in September.
The movement also appointed a Cross River State director earlier in 2026, with its activities described as focused on grassroots mobilisation and youth engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
The September 18–19 programme, however, is specifically designed to establish and train campus-level structures, according to the organisers.
The initiative is being coordinated by Comrade Kelvin Enyam, identified in the programme material as the Cross River State Students Director of the City Boy Movement.
The organisers said the campus-to-campus campaign would strengthen student participation in the political process while promoting their stated support for Tinubu, Otu and other APC candidates ahead of the elections.
The programme is scheduled to begin at 10am on both days at the College of Health Technology, Calabar.
