You deserve more than an ‘Award of Honor’, CRUTECH SUG President to DG Betta Edu

Members of the Students Union Government body (SUG) of the Cross River State University of technology, Calabar led by their Vice President Comrade Pamela Ofem who represented the SUG President presented an award of Excellence to the Director General of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency during a courtesy visit to her in Calabar.

The Vice President, Students Union Government, Pamela Ofem stated that the award was bestowed on the DG because she distinguished herself above all her contemporaries with her outstanding leadership qualities coupled with her selfless and humanitarian disposition towards the overall advancement of the course of youths in the state. According to her, the award is their way of appreciating youth and students development in their locality.

She commended the DG for her support to the Students Union Government during the just concluded Health Day which was part of the activities in the just concluded Students Week in the school. By this development, she said hundreds of students were screened for Malaria, HIV and AIDS, and minor ailments with distribution of Long Lasting Insecticide nets.

Presenting the award of Excellence the VP described her as a “blazing, ebullient and estimable personality right from when she was the Student Union Government Vice President of University of Calabar.

The DG in her remarks, expressed gratitude over the honour done to her and thanked them for recognizing her for such honor. Edu said the award would spur her to do more for humanity.

She used the opportunity to thank Governor, Ben Ayade of Cross River State for giving her and other youths the platform to serve and enjoined the students to continue to be worthy ambassadors of their institution while promising to deliver her mandate which is to revitalize primary healthcare in the state.

“You are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but also the future of today.” She also urged them to shun all forms of violence and continue to help in maintaining peace and order so as to move the country forward said the DG.
