The Federal government of Nigeria in a bid to arrest the failing  system of Education and to ensure quality education in Nigeria comparable to those in the western world deemed it fit to approved the establishment and full operation of eight new Universities.

According to the Minister of State for Education, Anthony Onwuka, who made the  announcement yesterday to State house correspondents after a brief session of her Federal Executive Council meeting.

According to the Minister, the establishment of these Universities is in line with the Buhari's administration fight against illiteracy and improvement in the standard of Education in Nigeria.

Below is a list of the newly approved Universities and their respective locations. In the list is:

1#  Anchor University Ayobo, Ipaja- Lagos

2#  Arthur Jarvis University Akpabuyo- Cross River

3#  Clifford University in Owerinta, Abia.

4#  Coal City University, Enugu.

5#   Crown Hill University Kwara.

6#    Dominican University Ibadan, Oyo.

7# Kola Daisy University, Ibadan

8#   Legacy University, Okija, Anambra State.

He said all the new universities were given three years provisional license and they are to be mentored by older universities.

According to the Education Minister,  These newly established Universities will function under the supervision and mentoring of other pre existing Universities.

For instance, the (Deeperlife) Anchor University will operate under the close watch of the University of Lagos;

University of Calabar will mentor Jarvis University in Akpabuyo ;

Clifford University will be monitored by  the University of Agriculture, Umudike,

Coal city University by the University of Nigeria Nsukka;

Legacy University by Nnamdi Azikiwe University,

Crown Hill University by the University of Ilorin;

While the duo of new universities in Oyo State, Kola Daisy and Dominican universities, will be mentored, supervised as well as checkmated by the University of Ibadan.
