Judge convicts 3 for rape of minors in C’River

Honourable Justice E. E. Ita has convicted the trio of Hassan Abdullahi, Nicholas Edet and Effiom Edem Bassey for the rape of minors in Cross River NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.

Hon. Justice Ita of the Calabar Family Court Judicial Division has convicted a 27 year old Hassan Abdullahi for the rape of a 12 year old child. Also, the court made another conviction against one Nicholas Edet for the rape of a minor. The trial judge also convicted 38 year old Effiom Edem Bassey for the rape of a 5 year old girl.

According to James Ibor Esq of the Basic Right Counsel Initiatives (BRCI) the three convicts will be sentenced on the 30th of September, 2021 ‘in line with the Sentencing guidelines.’
