The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Florence Banku Obi has announced the promotion of some academic staff in the University to the position of professors in their various discipline.
Prof. Florence Obi who made this known at an emergency Senate meeting held at the Senate Chamber said 6 academic staff were affected in the promotion exercise, 5 Professors and one Associate Professor.
The new professors are; Dr.(Mrs) Esther S. Uko of the department of Educational Management, Dr. Sunday D. Ediyang (Social Science Education), and Dr. Mrs. Judith Eteng Otu (Sociology).
Others are Dr. Clement O. Nku (Physiology), Dr. Sunday O. Ochigbo, (Paediatrics), and Dr. Thomas Eneji Ogar of the Department of Philosophy, Associate Professor.
