Rep Bassey Akiba Donates ₦1m to Muslims for Eid-el-Fitr

CALABAR — Bassey Akiba, a federal lawmaker in Cross River state has donated ₦1m to the Muslim Ummah in Calabar Municipality to support the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan NEGROIDHAVEN can report.

Akiba, who represents Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency at the tenth House of Representatives sent the donation through his Ward 10 Liaison Officer, Mr Femi Stanley.

Stanley said the support was part of the lawmaker’s efforts to promote peaceful coexistence and interfaith harmony in the constituency.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Muslim community, Alhaji Sani Baba Gombe thanked the lawmaker for the gesture.

He also commended Akiba for facilitating medical equipment for the community’s Primary Healthcare Centre, saying the intervention had improved healthcare services in the area.

Gombe prayed for the lawmaker and wished him success in serving the constituency.

Muslims across Nigeria are preparing to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of the Ramadan fasting period.
