NEWS: INEC, NYSC ASSURES CORP MEMBERS SAFETY

      National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has promised corp members who would be involved in the 2015 general election of their safety.
     The Director General of the NYSC scheme, Brigadier Johnson Olawumi while speaking to newsmen said plans have been put in place to ensure the safety of corp members before, during and after the election.
      He disclosed that the scheme is partnering with some security agencies in the country to ensure their protection and to see that their welfare and logistics are adequately taken care of during the election.
     INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Cross River State, Dr Okay Ezeanyi, while visiting the NYSC secretariat in the state, also told corp members that no harm would befall them. “It is the duty of INEC to provide adequate security for corps members, who will be used as ad hoc staff for the 2015 elections.”
     Dr. Ezeanyi expressed their need to be of good conduct during the election and noted that they would be paid for their services.
