A report has been filed in from the Oyo State Police command in Ibadan- Investigating how a supposed bite by a housemaid, Elizabeth Fatoki, led to the death of her employer’s neighbour.
According to our source, the deceased, identified as Tawa Lawal, who was aged 30, was prior to the time of her death, engaged in what looks like a serious fight with the maid when the latter bit her bosom.
Mrs. Lawal was then rushed to a near by hospital, where she died after some days.
According to our source, The deceased, a mother of three, lived at Salvation Army area of Ekotedo in Ibadan North-West area of the state.
The children of the deceased have their nomenclatures as Barakat, 15; Waris, 10; and Aliya .
Their mother has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
However, the husband of the diseased wife, Mr. Aliu Lawal narrated to News men, the circumstances that led to His wife’s death.
In His words while sobbing , he said “.. After the quarrel during which the suspect allegedly bit my wife , she complained of headache and pains at night and was rushed to Alaafia Hospital, Mokola, Ibadan, where she died later” .
Evidence from the post mortem carried out on the diseased revealed that,she must have died from tetanus infection .
All efforts to track down the suspect proved abortive as she must have flown into hiding after the unfortunate incident.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, nonetheless have assured the embittered public and community dwellers that efforts are been made to catch up with the suspect and that the Police will ensure that the rule of law takes its proper course in such case.
In His assertion “I am using this medium to urge members of the public to give useful information on the whereabouts of the suspect while we continue our investigation.
