Reliable information reaching Negroid Haven news desk has it that the member representing Ogoja State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon Peter Odey, has called on the Cross River State Government and the relevant agencies charged with the responsibility of providing security to the lives and property of the People of the State to immediately look into the Security situation in the State.
Hon Odey, was speaking on the security condition of the State by a motion moved by Rt. Hon Stephen Ukpukpen of Obudu. Hon Odey described the recent robberies, kidnappings, attacks on the People of the State as unfortunate and called on the State government to immediately arrest the situation.
He further called on the State Security Adviser, the Police, Army and other agencies of government to have a reward system for whistle blowers of citizens who provide useful information to the security agencies. Which he said would boost the morale of other well meaning Cross Riverians with useful information on security as it affects the State.
Hon Odey, also urged the security apparatus of government to provide security for citizens who provide useful information to the agencies.
He also commended the State Governor, Senator Prof. Ben Ayade For setting up the task force body "Operation Skolombo" which will further checkmate the crime rate across the State and bring sanity to the once peace loving tourism destination.
