According to media report, Chelsea have finally signed Peter Cech replacement Asmir Begovic from Stoke city.

Manchester United were interested in the Bosnia goalkeeper to replace David De Gea if he eventually leaves for Real Madrid. But Chelsea have gone ahead to sign the 28 year old which will be a second choice goal keeper to Belgium no. 1 shot stopper Thibaut Courtois.

The move came as a result of Begovic wanting the ambition to win the League and play in the Champions League.

At Stoke he has made more than 150 appearances and been a key figure in the consolidation of Stoke as an established Premier League side.

His signing is a positive one but there is a worry that it is not very cost effective, £8m is alot to pay for a second choice goalkeeper. As report also emanates that his weekly wages would be in the excess of $75,000
