NEWS: D’ Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bassey Eulogizes former Assembly Man, Rt. Hon Kelvin Nsed Akonjom

The Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly , Rt. Hon Joseph Bassey, on Friday during the House plenary said it was with sadness and deep feeling of personal loss that he received the news of the death of the former Chief Whip of the House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon Joseph Bassey.

Rt. Hon Bassey, described Rt. Hon Akonjom as a peace loving man who worked very hard for the emancipation of his people. He said the former Assembly man was a man who worked tirelessly for the growth of the State through his bills and motions he sponsored in the House during his reign as a member of the House of Assembly.

He further went on to describe Rt. Hon Akonjom as a great patriot and a unifier and bridge builder who did his utmost to see that his people benefited immensely from government. Saying he left remarkable foot print in Ikom Local Government and the State at large. 

The Deputy Speaker prays for the soul of the former Assembly man and and the family the fortitude to bear this great loss.
