Lessons learnt from the holy family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph should be the same example taught and practiced in our families today. Family is everything! I remember when my father was alive we spoke at least three times a day on phone. We shared jokes and ideas together. We were inseparable. He extended that same love to my mother and my older siblings. He was a loving and caring father. The lessons I got from him has nurtured me into a strong and principled young man.
Today, in our world, parents no longer have time from their children. We no longer have time to take care of our children. We have allowed our children to be brought up by maids. People with poor moral value. We are too busy to meet the needs of our loved ones. We work very hard without showing love to those who need our tender loving care the most.
As a wife or husband, your family needs you. How often do you sit with your children? How often do you teach your children morals and certain live principles? We are too busy pursuing money. The quest for material possession has ruined many families today. Wives no longer have time for their husbands. Many women have dedicated their time and energy to their career without balancing their homes. They get to leave their homes to be run by maids and nannies! I tell you that maid of yours will not only manage your home but would take over your home soon if you do not slow down and look after your home.
Many a time, husbands get to stay a way from the home giving out the excuse that they have meetings to attend. They generate too many frivolous excuses and tell lies just to please their mistresses without considering the dangers ahead. My friend, your family needs your time. Your kids need you. Your wife needs her once sweet and loving husband again.
The human nature is very delicate, once you do not balance and care for those who love you they resort to getting it outside. You must love your wife. You have the responsibility to show your wife unending love an affection just like Joseph showed Mary. You must protect your home. Your family is more important than that business deal or contract. I am not saying that you shouldn't pursue money but you need to marry the two. You need to show your kids love. You need to teach your children morals.
The world we find ourselves today is morally bankrupt because we now have parents who do not have time to run the home. Parents who have no time to checkmate the kind of company their their kids and wards keep. We must understand that the family nurtures and brings out the true virtues in a child. Family molds character. Without character you are finished. And it is in the home that character is learnt. I get perplexed when I see kindergartens abuse elderly people and their parents keep a huge silence in the name of they do not want to hurt their kids. Spare the rod and spoil the child. You must scold your kids. If you do not caution them, you would have your self to blame when they become a menace to the society.
How often do you go through the kind of sites your children view via the Internet. The social media has made the free flow of pornographic materials and today under aged persons take delight in watching them. It is the duty of parents to constantly go through the materials their wards watch and go through.
Most parents do not show their wards and kids love which turns them into sadist and social misfit. It is the responsibility of parents to show children love and support by constantly nurturing them into good adults that would add value to the society.
You must make that decision today that you would show your family love and affection. You must understand that your life revolves around your family. No man is an island! Everyone needs a family. Wives and husbands you must strive to be like the Holy family, Jesus, Mary and Joseph who were one big united family.
Always be the best husband to your wife and the best you can be to your children.
