The picture published above is trending on Cross River cyberspace. It's alleged to be the exact colour of the water that Cross River State Water Board Limited (CRSWB) sent into their pipeline on 16 December 2015 for consumption by her numerous clients in the state.
The notice of the polluted water was brought to social media by one Harmony Odwong on 18 December 2015 and it goes thus:
'And this is what Cross River State Water Board released to the public, just this morning Dec 16th 2015. Heaven knows how many people
have consumed this poison'.
Another influential Facebook user and social critic, Ifere Paul, who shared the post and appeared to have made a post on the water hygiene condition of CRSWB earlier on observed that:
'I have said it and will continue to say it anywhere. The information i share on my platform are always
verified.
The water Techvibe pump for drinking is Cross River State is poisonous. It is not treated. It
is only boiled and supplied. The pipes that are used to supply the water are painted with ordinary
industrial deluxe glux paints.
Investigation carried out by Iwara U. Iwara uncovered serious health
hazards in our public water supply by the CRSWB.
For safety purposes, I will advise the public to be careful before drinking public supply water especially that supplied by CRSWB.'
This present press outfit is asking the Commissioner of Health of Cross River State, Dr. Inyang Asibong and the Management of Cross River State Water Board Ltd should come out and make an official statement on this information.
