Recently, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, HE Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, was presented with an 'Award of Excellence' by the United Nation Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation(UNESCO) for being a 'people oriented governor' as well as for his 'leadership and foresight in improving the lives of his people'.
The United Nation body pledged amongst other things to partner with His Excellency towards helping him actualise what they tagged 'Cross River State of the United States'. It was in the spirit of this award that Cross River foremost public affairs analyst and social commentator eulogised Ayade in the following clauses:

A very big congratulations to the digital Governor of Cross River State, HE, Sen Prof. Ayade Benedict on his award of Excellence by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for his leadership and foresight in improving the lives of the people of Cross River State.
My digital governor, you have proven to be a man who means well for his people. As an intelligentsia, you have constantly used your God giving wisdom for the greater good of our people. You have continued to reaffirm that you are a man who has the gateway to Cross River State's prosperity and a man with a burning desire to make a difference.
My vibrant and enigmatic leader, I am not surprised at your award of excellence by UNESCO because at a very young age you had already set the pace for many to emulate from you.
My Governor, I am optimistic that your covenant with God is what is giving you the strength to move our State forward regardless of the tight economic situation the State is experiencing.
Your diligence in little things is what has seen you shining and leading in your generation. My governor, you have remained a pedagogue to many. All I can say is a big Congratulations.
