CRS is Recipient of United States Aid & General Electric Generosity —DG Edu

As a follow up to the General Electric(GE), United States Aid (USAID) , FMOH and NPHCDA launch of Vscan Access ultrasound scan intervention at Transcorp Abuja last month, the government of Cross River State represented by Dr. Mrs. Betta Edu, Director General, Crossing River State Primary Health Care Development Agency has recieved the team in calabar.

Their mission is to assess the Health facilities where 120 midwives/health workers are to be trained on practical application of the portable ultrasound scan device, and also assess the 60 Health facilities where deployment of the devices will be recieved.

Recieving them at Transcorp Metro Calabar,  the dynamic Director General Dr. Edu thanked the team for chosing to start with Cross River State among the few states selected in Nigeria. She informed the team that the state is fully prepared to host the training of 120 midwives and has all the 60 health facilities ready where the portable Ultrasound scan devices can be deployed to. She equally used the opportunity to intimate them on the giant strides taken by the unstoppable Governor Sen. Prof Ben Ayade in the health sector, noting that 3 Primary health centers in Cross River State are simultaneously under going full renovation and refurbishment.

In their response, the Head of the team commended the warm reception and praised the state Governor for all the wonderful measures he has put in place to revitalise the health system, including the creation of the CRSPHDA which was overdue. They noted that every donor coming into Nigeria wants to be in CRS because of the high level of government commitment shown by His Excellency Sen. Ben Ayade.

After their first outing on day one, they recounted that they were very satisfied with the facilities they met on ground and are energised to do even more for CRS in the nearest future.
