The Honourable Member representing Ogoja State Constituency at the Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA), Peter Odey, recently took to his social media account to reel out his achievements in office as law maker of 8th CRSHA in an article titled: Thank You The Good People Of Ogoja For All Your Support!

According to the Honourable Member within a year in office he traveled to New York for the historic signing of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), sponsored a bill for the Establishment of a Sustainable Development Agency, represented Cross River State at a parliamentarian summit on SDGs which took place at the National Assembly, Abuja, payment of bursaries to students of Ogoja Local Government, organized a foot ball competition for under 18 students in Ogoja origin, etc. The law maker promised to evolve measures to ameliorate the economic challenges of members of his constituency.

What follows is the speech of the Honourable Member, Odey.

Thank You The Good People Of Ogoja For All Your Support!

When we came on board 11 months ago we said it was a "New Deal" for the good people of Ogoja. We decided to do things in a certain way just like Wallace Wattles would say. We set the records straight and hit ground running. During my campaigns I promised the good people of Ogoja that it was time for a "New Deal" and that I was going to change things around for the better.

Sending leaders with capacity is something that the we must imbibe. Less than 2 weeks in Office when the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly assigned committees to members, I was made the Chairman House Committee On Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) and in less than one month I accompanied the Speaker to New York City for the United Nations SDGs summit in New York. It shows we must begin to elect and nominate Leader's with the right intellectual capacity. Men and women with a vision, who are driven by ideas and have the will power to turn things for the better.

Less than a month in Office, we sponsored the best bill in the Cross River State House of Assembly, a bill for the Establishment of a Sustainable Development Agency. The aim of the bill is to provide the basic necessity of life for the good people of Cross River State.

I was also nominated to represent Cross River State at a parliamentarian summit on SDGs which took place at the National Assembly, Abuja. That summit afforded the opportunity to interact with other legislators on ways we can  ameliorate the sufferings of our people.

During my campaigns I promised the good of Ogoja that I was to going pay bursary to students. It is now evident that we kept our promise and paid students of Ogoja origin their bursary on January 8, 2016. An achievement that has come to speak volume.

We also organized a foot ball competition for under 18 students in Ogoja origin. Which had 42 schools participating. It afforded the students the opportunity to interact with themselves and actually discover their true potentials.

On assumption into Office, we have given many sons and daughters of Ogoja jobs in various agencies of government within the State. And worked as a unifier of the Ogoja politics. We thank God for His unending wisdom and His divine direction.

In the next couple of months, my office and my team would work out measures in cushioning the economic hardship experienced by the Ogoja people. We plead that the good people of Ogoja continue to support us. We plead for your prayers and also seek your wise counsel and ways you think we can move Ogoja forward.

Let me assure you all that we are poised to move Ogoja to a celestial level. A level where Ogoja would be the envy of other sister constituencies.

We were taken to court by agents who wanted to short-changed the people's mandate but you all stood by me. I say thank you for supporting me in times of distress. I promise to work towards putting smiles on the faces of our people for all the love I have received thus far.

Once again I and my team thank you all  for your constant support and prayers.

God bless!

Hon Peter Odey
Member Representing Ogoja State Constituency,
CRSHA.
