Princewill Odidi, the Ikom-born Development Consultant, leaving in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday 23 June rationalised his thumbs up to the glaring selective probing of corruption in the country by the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Odidi posited that should the present administration embark on a holistic corruption fight, the entire country will collapse. Nevertheless, Odidi appears to be queuing behind other mainstream social commentators and leaders of thought who are presently justifying a perceived witch-hunting in the name of corruption fighting. Excerpt follows below:

In response to a question on why selective probing on corruption I write:

"if the corruption drive goes beyond Dasukigate to probe every sector and every past government in Nigeria, then the entire country will collapse.

The bulk of the present organized private sector in Nigeria today is a product of corruption. Most high rise buildings and shopping malls scattered all over Nigeria today has a link to corruption. This is not to say we don't have genuine businesses, we do, but very few.

Virtually every institution in Nigeria is corrupt, at a time corruption became a culture. The military, judiciary, even some current serving ministers where terribly corrupt while in past government.

If everyone has to be probed that's when you know there is no saint out there.

I am definite PMB probe will include only those who shared money with nothing to show for it, or those who abused their moral conscience by sharing money meant for IDPs and sending our military to fight Boko haram without arms, while they lived large in their Abuja mansions.

I support the ability and determination of Mr President to fight corruption, even though he may have his own flaws and weaknesses, but at least let us reinstitute order in our national life and social space.

let us start somewhere going forward, God willing, we will succeed.

Princewill Odidi

Do you agree with Odidi's logic?
