Speaker Lebo to Retrain Abi World Bank Agric Beneficiaries

The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly Rt. Hon John Gaul Lebo has made certain, plans to retrain Abi beneficiaries of the World Bank Agricultural grant.

The gesture, according to the Speaker has become necessary to up the capacity of the beneficiaries to enable them make judicious use of the grant, adding that it was his belief that beneficiaries would soon begin to contribute to the economic well-being of not only the council area but also the state.

Rt. Hon Lebo who gave the indication recently in a meeting with the World Bank agriculture grant beneficiaries from Abi comprised of women and youths, in his office, also advised the affected persons to be prudent with resources as they would be expected to account for the grant in due course, hence the proposed additional knowledge and capacity building programme.

He said that the Entrepreneurial Development Centre (EDC) would be contracted to help sharpen the skills of the beneficiaries while retraining them on respective specialized areas of business interests for more gainful ventures via effectively management of both business and resources.

The Speaker further advised the Abi women and youths be good ambassadors of the world bank programme while trying not to betray the confidence reposed on them as subsequent beneficiaries would be looking up to them for inspiration and direction.

Responding, Egbe Brown, Oge Stanley, David Emmanuel and Ada Izani, respectively, thanked the Speaker for his role in helping the beneficiaries to secure the grant; his magnanimity and sense of service while pledging to make judicious use of the World Bank grant.

They promised not to betray the trust reposed on them by the Speaker and further thanked him for believing in them.
