While presenting the Bills to the Governor, Speaker John Gaul Lebo noted that the bills were a product of deep vision, reminiscent of the 2016 Appropriation Law christened Budget of Deep Vision. He further observed that
the Assembly under his watch in the last year and 2 months had moved from being a legislative architect to solution architect.

According to the Speaker, the 23 bills signed into law so far, reflect 23 issues among 100 that were raised in the legislative direction of the House at its inception adding that the 9 bills being presented for the governor’s assent came in two major parts.

He said that among the nine bills were 5 revenue bills and 4 social services bills, disclosing that it was the target of the House under his leadership to enact 100 bills within the duration of the 8th Assembly.

As he assented to the bills, the Governor lauded the 25 members of the 8th CRSHA. In his words,

“In some states, this will be top news. For you to convert government thoughts into these quality bills shows passion. Some of these bills are even the products of social interactions and for you to even have the intellectualism to convert them into law is very commendable”, Ayade said.

Governor Ayade also showered encomium on the sponsor of the Cross River State Homeland Safety and Security Agency Bill, Rt. Hon Eteng Jones William for the swift and thorough job on the important bill.

Highlight of the signing ceremony amongst others was the standing ovation given to members of the Assembly by the State Executive Council Members in appreciation of their enormous strides since inaugurated.

The member representing Etung/Obubra Federal Constituency in the Federal House of representatives, Hon Mike Etaba, Head of Service, Henshaw Ekpenyong, Commissioners, Assembly members and several other top government functionaries were present at the signing ceremony.
