As I write Mr Ben Ayade, the Executive Governor of Cross River State, has just laid N301 billion 2017 budget to the Cross River State House of Assembly.
According to Government House sources budget emphasises on the people of Cross River State.
It will be recalled that Ayade had proposed a budget of 350 billion Naira for the 2016 fiscal year. Christened “Budget of Deep Vision”, the 2016 budget, which was Ayade's first budget as Governor, represented 273.7 per cent increase over the 2015 appropriation bill of the immediate past administration of Liyel Imoke.
The 2017 fiscal proposal has witnessed a drastic slump.
