"I am for Everybody And I belong to Nobody"- Buhari

Pres. Buhari made an open confession during the week as he expressed doubt as to whether he would faithfully uphold the above promise to Nigerians especially in this period of economic downturn wherein there are pressure from all sides.

According to our source,  Buhari made an open  confession  on Friday in Abuja, when he told newsmen and the media that his earnest prayer and wish from God was to have the courage to be fair to all Nigerians without any form of sentiments of tribe,  religion or culture.

He suggested that his administration would continue to promote a united Nigeria by ensuring equity and good social justice to all and sundry.

Pres. Buhari made this proclamation when he received into the Aso villa, prominent Islamic heads from Saudi Arabia  – Sheikh Abdul-Muhsin Muhammad Al-Qassimi, the presiding Imam of the Mosque of the Holy Prophet in Medina.

In Buhari's words,

“I pray that God gives us the courage to be fair to people he put in our charge so that we can enjoy his mercy,”

He continues:

“…a population of 180 million people comprising more than 300 ethnic groups many of them with cultural ties stronger than religion can only co-exist peacefully in an atmosphere of social justice,”

According to him, experience has taught us not to neglect the place and important role of social justice for all without any form of ethnocentric commitments especially in a complex Nation as Ours.

The President commended the Imam for finding out time to visit Nigeria and that such visit would no doubt tailor towards the peace, unity and religious tolerance amongst Nigerians.

The Imam remarked on Buhari's statement through  his( Buhari's aide) the Senior Special Asdistant  on media and publicity by expressing his satisfaction with the cordial relations between government and religious leaders.

He further urged Nigerians across all religious strata to embrace peace for the progress of the country.
