Femi Aribisala, a Lagos-based Christian preacher and leading critique of the present federal government. He has also been described as a scholar and international affairs expert.

Aribisala who is a syndicated essayist for a handful publications in Nigeria has queried why believers of the Christian faith do still circumcise their male children eight days after birth. He cited Galatians 5:2-4 as a buttress of his queries. Read him out:

"Paul says: 'If you are circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do all the Law, you who are justified by Law are deprived of all effect from Christ; you fell from grace." (Galatians 5:2-4).

"So why do Christians still circumcise their male children? Is Paul's injunction against circumcision the word of God? If it is, why do Christians disobey it?

How do you respond Aribisala's question?
