Information reaching our desk has it that there was rivalry between suspected cult gangs in Calabar South, a local government area that constitute Calabar, Cross River State capital city.
Eye witnesses account has it that the gang clash was between two groups whose exact identity NegroidHaven is yet to ascertain as at the time of going to the press. The incident transpired about four hours ago at Mount Zion road and proceeded to Goldie Street. Belongings of commuters and residents where deprived some during the clash.
Again, there was a serious fight at  Palladium Hotel located at Mary Slessor Roundabout about the same time.
It will be recalled yesterday it was reported on this website that there was a robbery incident at Palm Street by Elijah Henshaw Street at about a similar time. The security of lives and property is threatened.
I am calling on the Police Force, Nigerian Civil Defense and Security Agency, the Office of the Chief Security Adviser as well as the Greater Calabar Capital Development Authority as manned by its Director General, Comrade Kingsley Ita Ikpeme to rise up to the task of addressing insecurity in the state capital.
