Some unidentified gunmen have allegedly murdered three police Officers in the heart of Abuja.

NHB garnered that the murder was committed in the wee hours of yesterday, Tuesday at Idu Industrial Estate, Karmo of Abuja.

According to our source, the police officers were said to have been carrying about their normal duties of patrol and stop-search action, when suddenly as if from the blues, the gunmen appeared and fired sporadic bullet shots at them and later absconded, leaving them to die in their pool of blood.

From the way the attack was carried out, one could infer that it was calculated as they were shot on target at the Karmo checkpoint.

Corroborating the story, Vanguard purports that " the Police Officers who were on a stop and search exercise, were caught unawares by a vehicle carrying several heavily-armed robbers, who suddenly emerged from the Karmo Forest, close to the checkpoint, pretending to be obeying the order to stop, they opened fire on the officers and took off."

Efforts to apprehend the assailants have proven abortive as there is no vital information available as to where they fled to.

However, an order has been issued by the Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Mohammed Mustapha, for an unmistakable manhunt of the suspected armed robbers. The commissioner have Ordered his men to comb every nook and cranny of Abuja, never to relent until they have successfully hunt down the criminals.

Amongst the victims is an Inspector and two other non-commissioned Police Officers.

As at press time, nothing has being brought to fore as it regards the whereabouts of the daredevils who murdered these men in cold blood.

This is indeed sad! May their soul rest in Peace.
