Health Commissioner Pays Unscheduled Visit to Maternal Ward at General Hospital, Calabar

Barely two months after the unveiling and handing over of the Postnatal Ward of the General Hospital, Calabar by the MTN Foundation, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Inyang Asibong, earlier today pays unscheduled visit  of the facility NegroidHaven can authoritatively inform.

The Commissioner was guided round the facility by the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Etim Ayi, and some head Nurses and ward attendants.

Dr. Asibong said 'satisfied with the level of expertise shown by the nurses in handling the very  technical equipment in the ward' . It could be recalled that the nurses underwent some training in this regard prior to the handing over. She also encouraged the maternal ward staff to continue to ensure the ward maintains its glittery form as it could be visibly seen.

Some of the new mothers in the ward were full of praise for the state government and the MTN Foundation for the comfort in the ward. They thanked the Commissioner specially for finding time to visit and also appreciated the medical superintendent for ensuring they learn how to operate their bed which is specially designed for infection, prevention and control.
