Yesterday, 20th April an electrical installation, a transformer, exploded, cutting a high tension overhead cable and dropping it on a football viewing centre made with Zinc roofing sheets wall, literally fried over 20 football fans watching the UEFA games along Akpandem Street, Atimbo, Calabar Municipality.
Yet-to-be confirmed reports has it that over 20 of the fans, who were watching Man United Vs Anderlecht Europa league return leg, are feared dead as others are wounded.
Calabar Urban Development Authority (CUDA) has been blamed by some for allegedly allowing a football viewing centre to be built and operated under a high tension cable!
