L-R: Messrs Princewill Odidi, Emmanuel Undie and Ray Morphy

Both Emmanuel Undie (known as Eau Ad on social media) and Chief Ray Ugba Morphy have frowned at Princewill Odidi’s 22 June’s opinion which assert that those vying for office of Governor of Cross River, who are already expressing their intent publicly should wait till 2019 alleging there’s no vacancy yet.
Undie in a brief analysis below Odidi’s thread (as shared by acclaimed social change agent, Joseph Odok) rather held that waiting until 2019 is itself late. For him, May 2019 is handing over date. His words, ‘May 29, 2019 was two years of this current government. Middle of 2018 is parties’ primaries. End of the year 2018 is elections. May 2019 is handing over…It is late for serious politicians to start by this time -from a Political Scientist’s point of view’.
For Morphy, he categorically stated that he completely disagree with those saying that it is too early to indicate interest to replace Ayade. While commending those who are already working assiduously to unseat incumbent Governor of Cross River, Ben Ayade, he invited what he referred to as capable hands in building the momentum to undo Ayade.
The former aide to Gov Ayade on National Contact and Strategy further added that spiritually speaking the state had been rescued amongst other things. Hear him out, ‘I disagree with those who say that it is too early for anyone to show interest in unseating Gov Ben Ayade. Indeed, I salute everyone who is already out on the field working to see the end of this government of filth and lies.
‘In fact I call on all capable hands to join the race and build momentum. It is not for nothing that the bible enjoins to start a journey while it is still early.
‘In spiritual terms, CRS has already been rescued. Its just a matter of two years and we will all heave a sigh of relief. I only enjoin my people to be vigilant and make a much better choice this time.
‘For me, money and ethnicity should not be considerations. The considerations should be competence, capacity, local knowledge and spread acceptability across the state. As a matter of fact, we will be seeking and endorsing anyone who is willing to run a government of State Unity after Ayade so that the state can be rebuilt and returned to the Paradise it once was before the Ayade disaster came and spoilt everything.
‘In short, our state must be rescued and the sooner the better. Which Cross Riverian will say they have not seen the mountains of Refuse Ayade built? For two years, our people are crying out and the man would not heed, yet someone is saying that aspirants to rescue our state should wait, wait for what? Wait until our state is gone completely?
‘Make I hear word, mbok!
This is the thread by Odidi which may have incited their reactions: ‘I read some politicians aspiring to take over CRS when the incumbent barely completed 2 years. Wait until 2019, no vacancy yet. If you love CRS so much help the incumbent to succeed. No serious aspirant will openly declare now. Politically, two years is a long time. Stop the distraction’.
Amongst the trio of Odidi, Undie or Morphy with whom do you stand, and why?
