PRESS RELEASE: Ongoing INEC Voters Registration Exercise

In order to ensure optimum participation and upscale the virile engagement of Cross Riverians in the democratic process; His Excellency, Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade, Governor of Cross River State has directed that all Political Appointees should immediately deploy and mobilize all those who have attained the voting age to register in the ongoing Voters Registration Exercise being carried out in the 18 Local Government Areas of the State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In this regard, all appointees are directed to as a matter of urgency return to their respective Local Government Areas to lead efforts at ensuring Maximum voters turn out in the registration/review exercise being currently conducted by INEC.
This assignment which will be closely monitored and sanctions applied where appointees fail to mobilize to their Constituencies is to be carried out between Friday 23rd June and Wednesday 28th of June 2017. Similarly all Cross Riverians of 18 years and above are hereby advised to come out and register to vote and also present any issues that need to be sorted out for those who registered earlier.
