Reliable information reaching NegroidHaven has it that students of state-owned College of Education, Akamkpa have been made to compulsorily vacate campus for the next three weeks to create room for the 2017 Batch B prospective Corp members who resumed their National Youth Service Corps camp yesterday.
As at yesterday, our correspondent saw students stranded outside the school premises as fierce looking personnel of the Nigerian Army were stationed at the gate. Security personnel were seen stationed at strategic places in the school premises as well.
NegroidHaven further learnt that these students just resumed but have been asked to return home. It's been perceived by some that the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Chief Goddy Etta, may have goofed when he directed the management of the College to resume academic activities, contrary to the suggestion of the Commissioner for Youths And Sports, Mr Asu Okang, who advised against such move. This news outfit is yet to confirm this sentiment.
Recall that the COE, Akamkpa is the male shift camp for NYSC camping as a result of the health challenge that rocked their permanent camp site at Obubra LGA recently.
