Sequel to a 26 July 2017 open letter addressed by the publisher of NegroidHaven, Efio-Ita Nyok, to the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Cross River on Diaspora Matters, Dr Matthew Okeyim Okiri, where he frowned at the latter's nonchalance in office a handful of Nigerians of Cross River origin in the diaspora have expressed their dissatisfaction with the said public officer NegroidHaven can report authoritatively.
Publisher Nyok's open letter reads in part thus: '… being SA Diaspora, doesn't end at this Marian Road office. It means he should have at least contacts of Cross Riverians in these countries, interface with them, be the image maker of the state to the world especially considering the industrial drive of His Excellency the Governor of Cross River, Ben Ayade; advice and make diplomatic contacts with the Nigerian embassies where Cross River State has or is anticipating to do business.
'A case in point is the stranded scholars in both European and American universities particularly Bright Eworo, etc. What did your office do beyond the unreachable email Paul Ojeka gave to Cross Riverians?
'Again, considering the criticism of Obasesam Okoi over the Shaan Xi Province of China geological mapping of Cross River, what did you advise His Excellency? Did your office encouraged him to continue or desist?
'Again, what has your office done in managing the international public perception of Cross River as a den of kidnappers, bloodthirsty cultists, street children, and political assassinations, etc?'
Amb Chris Lekan based in the US, Amb Engr Godwin Apple based in Finland and Russian-based Scholar Bright Eworo, and other Cross Riverians in Nigeria etc have aired their reservations accordingly. Read what they said about Dr Okiri:
Amb Chris Lekan
I think he is not reaching out. Some of us in diaspora (🇺🇸) are not yet in contact with him. Someone should remind him please. CRS belongs to all of us and we want the best for our people.
The SA diaspora has to sit up. Diaspora is a huge resource for CRS government. We are committed to giving back to our state the knowledge and experience we have gained.
Amb Engr Godwin Apple
Cross Riverians in Finland and the entire European countries are yet to have interactive contact with the Cross River State SA on Diasporan Affairs. We have much to do for the state but without the backing of the Diaspora Affairs office, it's impossible. e.g. Students Exchange Program, Tertiary  Institutions Affiliations, Sabbatical Leaves for our academicians and Library old books donations, Foreign Scholarship and Study Admission, Industrial and Investment relationship.
I pray for the SA to stand up, be in Europe and work better for our beloved state and for the interest of the youths especially.
Bright Eworo
Boss Amb Chris Lekan! All the appointees under this present dispensation in the state are failures, at part from Dr. Betta Edu. That knows her job duties. The question is; How did he emerged diaspora SA.to the state governor?
I believed very well that Matthew Okiri! Is not that old not to know what his fellow masses are looking for from their elites.
Paul Ingiona Adie
I HAD SENT IN A WHOLISTIC DESTINATION BRAND MANAGEMENT PROPOSAL INCLUDING DIASPORA MOBILIZATION AS ONE OF THE STRATEGIES
Joseph Odok
This guy is empty, don't expect anything from nothing
Wisdom Inyang
So unfortunate, he was active on Facebook before the appointment, since his appointment he has not being heard or seen.

Open Letter to Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Diaspora Matters, Matthew Okeyim Okiri:

I want to remind the occupier of the Office of Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Cross River State on Diaspora Matters, Mr Matthew Okiri, of the dilapidated flags of the various countries Cross Riverians are doing business in and making us proud;

I wish to humbly remind him of the leaking roofs, torn flags and some absent flags! Or, is he saying that the barren poll suggests Cross Riverians ain't in those affected countries  anymore?

I wish to also remind him that being SA Diaspora, doesn't end at this Marian Road office. It means he should have at least contact of Cross Riverians in these countries, interface with them, be the image maker of the state to the world especially considering the industrial drive of His Excellency the Governor of Cross River, Ben Ayade; advice and make diplomatic contacts with the Nigerian embassies where Cross River State has or is anticipating to do business.

A case in point is the stranded scholars in both European and American universities particularly Bright Eworo, etc. What did your office do beyond the unreachable email Paul Ojeka gave to Cross Riverians?

Again, considering the criticism of Obasesam Okoi over the Shaan Xi Province of China geological mapping of Cross River, what did you advise His Excellency? Did your office encouraged him to continue or desist?

Again, what has your office done in managing the international public perception of Cross River as a den of kidnappers, bloodthirsty cultists, street children, and political assassinations, etc?

I can go on and on, but, let me pause here and demand your account of stewardship in Office thus far? But, if your office is this tattered looking, I doubt your performance will be any different.

Meanwhile, I must commend His Excellency the Shoki one for providing you with, at least, an office space (you are really lucky). Abi, na just branding of person property na it you  do for Marian Road opposite Federal Pay Office?
