Simon Utsu is a first grade Control systems/Electronics Engineer from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. Not many know he lived in Europe and has an M.Sc in Controls System engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK.
He’s one person who doesn’t like his achievement discussed on the media, reason why not many know what stuff he is made of, unlike some Nigerians who would flood the media with background photos from a two week stay in remote Cotonou (Benin Republic), or Malabor (Equatorial Guinea) just to show off they have been abroad. Truth is, I didn’t even consult him on this publication because I know the answer would be an outright No.
Simon’s versatility, rich sense of political history, informative driven alertness is never in doubt. I know a particular friend who once told me how he always goes to Simon’s Facebook wall to “spy” on a daily basis just to get update about happenings around the world because of his up-to-date vigilance.
Simon is fantastically gifted with writing ability, as a matter of fact, the only person I have come across with his comic/scintillating writing style is the upcoming (work in progress) Ukung Iye Alawa. Simon is a media rebel who has maintained standard/consistency counselling (and in most cases) rendering panacea(ic) recommendations to governments for free via his publications.
Simon like Omoleye Sowore of Sahara Reporters is fearless; he has dared to thread where the cowards will timidly go dumb, he’s very bullish, a deep thinker and very knowledgeable, he can tell you the whole story of the creation of an unpopular Somalia or Albania from A to Z without inhaling an extra breathe, Simon can “walk on water” when it comes to political history stories.
Like CNN’s Richard Quest, Simon is always explicit, outspoken and doesn’t hide during his public presentations when it comes to matters of national interest; the reason he has the huge media followership.
The guy, (in Donald Trump’s voice) is a jolly good asset who would blossom and make Cross River nay Nigeria proud in the near future. If I am asked to recommend him for a position in government I will quickly affix him for the position of Chief Press Secretary (CPS), senior spokesperson to any state or central government because of his defensive tactility. He will also do very well as a Parliamentarian owing to his vast plethora of political prowess and ability to twist/adjust/confront issues and his well versed constructive visibility during public debates.
