AN OPEN CONGRATULATORY LETTER TO AHMED MUSA
Dear Musa,
My name is Isa; check out the rhymes. You are a footballer, I’m a lawyer. You dribble ball, I dribble words. You pass the ball to team mates, I pass the files to learned colleagues.
The free kicks you take in the field is known as Motion on Notice in court; penalty kick is know as Motion Ex parte. Yellow card is interim injunction and red card is perpetual injunction. Foul is known as contempt of court. The referee is known as a judge here and the jerseys you wear, we call it wig and gown over here.
I hope I have convinced you with this few words of mine that we are so alike after all? 😂
Last year I went to Mbube to marry a beauty called Juliet and this year you went to that same Mbube to marry another beauty called Juliet. Isa and Musa are now married to two different women called Juliet and from the same village, Mbube.
I’m writing you this letter to congratulate you and tell you I know how you feel bro. To marry a woman from Mbube is the best thing that can ever happen to you; and to marry a woman from Mbube called Juliet is better than the best thing that can ever happen to you.
She will love you just like only Mbube women know how to do. Their love intoxicates like the fresh palm wine tapped from their land; the yeast thereof will clear your eyes and improve the vision of your soul. I swear Musa, you go score more goals.
The blessings that come with marrying a Juliet from Mbube shall be evident in your life; you will score on field goals and out field goals to the glory of your club and increment of the number of your immediate family.
But, Dear Musa, I warn you: Mbube woman dey shack like wine o. And a Juliet from Mbube is two bottles of any shack any other Mbube Woman is. I know, because since I married one my life has not remained the same. It has become a blessed and unending intoxication of creative festivity.
Enjoy your life bro. Soar. Score. Prosper.
Toast to all the Mbube women and the mighty men who are wise enough to marry them. Toast to Musa and Isa and their Juliet’s. Toast to plenty happiness.
Sincerely,
Eugene Upah
