As we celebrate this year's New Yam Festival, what is most important is the peaceful coexistence as a people.
New yam festivals are moments of great joy, a time to merry together and chart a new course.
Every son and daughter of Mbube, is a stakeholder in the Mbe project. We have a duty to protect the rights of our people and provide the needed empowerment and growth we desire.
For me, I feel disturbed that my community is yet to have a road, electricity, pipe borne water and the basic amenities of life.
This moment should be a time to ask deep questions. It is a period to project where we want to be as Mbube People in terms of growth, development and political advancement.
Never again, should an Mbube man fight his brother because of politics. The Mbube people are peace loving people. We have a duty to protect the legacies of our fallen heroes and that we must protect.
The people of Mbe nation must begin to see herself as one irrespective of community or language. From Odajie down to Ogberia, we have a responsibility to work for the good of others.
I wish everyone a memorable celebration.
Happy Bitchong Ifefe!
