The Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser —Media, to the Governor of Cross River State, Mr Christian Ita, has come under fire for failing to move with recent developments in the media industry NegroidHaven has garnered. An influential social commentator by name, Mr Simon Utsu, took a swipe at the media aide for failing to have a social media account.
Utsu, who described Ita as being most anonymous queried why Ita hadn’t an active social media account. He highlighted the fact that the said aide was the media aide to the digital Governor, Ben Ayade. Utsu suggested that one Emmanuel Etim replace Ita seeing according to him, his proses are good.

According to Utsu, ‘Governor Ayade’s most anonymous and ineffective principal officer is his chief Press secretary. Christian Ita is his name I think.

‘What kind of chief press secretary seldom releases press statements and doesn’t even have active social media handles? The CPS of a digital governor for that matter!
‘His press releases are often drab and linear. He should be replaced with a more lively person. I was thinking Ayade would have replaced him with the former Special Assistant media to the Speaker, one Mr Emmanuel Etim who was recently elevated to an SSSA on something(honestly can’t remember the bogus and ambiguous sounding portfolio) by the Governor. Emmanuel Etim will fit the bill.

‘Though a bit of a haughty bloke, his prose is very good and he’s quite knowledgeable on contemporary issues. I think he’ll do a better and more professional job than Christian Ita’.
NegroidHaven further learnt that the Commissioner for Information and Cultural Orientation, Barr. Mrs. RoseMary Archibong, was similarly slammed by social media users for sharing in the anonymity of Mr Ita. According to one Williams Uyanah and Kennedy Nsan, the information boss has performed poorly. According to Umanah, ‘…even the Information Commissioner should be changed, I hardly hear anything from both of them, they are performing so poorly to the point that stronger voices from outside have shaped the perception we have of the Ayade government, which is not good and reminiscent of the poor Labaran Maku n co team that were so poor and allowed Lai Mohammed over power them in branding the GEJ administration’. For Nsan, ‘This is the first time in the history of our state that I’ve no idea who the information commissioner is. I’m shocked to realize this…’
But, a correspondent with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr George Odok Jnr, has observed that Mr Ita, though without an active social presence, has delivered on his job as media aide. Odok’s words, ‘Christian Ita may not have gotten a strong social media presence, but I guess he is given his boss the publicity he so desire; having managed the media and publicity affairs of Sen. Imoke’.
Christian Ita’s last Facebook thread...
In the attempt to confirm Utsu’s allegation, NegroidHaven discovered that the last thread Mr Ita posted to his Facebook account —Christian Ita— is 7th September 2015 at 09:09AM. The said account seem to have been created on 31st December 2012 at 9:00PM.
Last thread of Chief Press Secretary Ita!

Our correspondent saw just a pictorial thread between December 2012 and September 2015. Hmmm!
