The management of state-owned College of Education (COE) Akamkpa has been recently involved in numerous corruption scandals which has compelled anti-corruption czar, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to invite no fewer than six principal officers of the College over to Abuja for questioning  NegroidHaven has garnered.
Particularly, Acting Provost of COE Dr Patrick Obere Abiam, Chairman of the College's Governing Council Dr Stephen Adah, Registrar of the College Mr Bernard Okon, COE Director of Works & Service Engr. Ntongha Okoi, Bursar of COE Dan Ablib and COE's Procurement Officer Mr Felix Ibiang are all enclosed in EFCC net as at press time.
Anonymous sources has it that the reason for the recent development may not be unconnected with :
1. Grass cutting of COE's premises by the connivance of the management without due process.
2. Misappropriation of TETFUND resources as follows :
—Acting Provost's relation allegedly and fraudulently assessed about N11, 180,00 to study M. Sc at UNN and the UK respectively without attending any of the tertiary academic institution or location so mentioned.
—Non staff benefitting from TETFUND alleged to be relations to the former Registrar, former Chair of Council and Acting Provost.
3. Misappropriation of COE's IGR, which is alleged to be shared among the management team ranging over N200, 000, 000
4. Illegal tenure elongation of the Acting Provost and his illegal stay perceived to be used to siphon college alleged inadequate resources.
5. Infringement into the intellectual property of academic staff as their works are printed in books and sold to students by management without recourse to original authors.
NCCE receives 'petition of recruitments of substandard staff in College of Education, Akamkpa'

In another development, our correspondent learnt that there's a petition at NCCE challenging the recruitment of 'substandard' staff into COE, Akamkpa. The petition is summarised thus :
1. Recruitment of staff into areas of non specialisation.
2. Preference for recruitment of staff with third class degrees into the College in defiance to those with higher degrees in same area of study.
3. Level 9 officer recruited to head the staff demonstration school recently handed over to the state government as against the rule of headship being reserved for Officers of level 15.
4. Falsification of ages by staff and possession of fake certificates by some staff of the college. Hence, the need for a thorough personnel audit.
5. Recruitment of Registrar without a Master degree (M. Sc., M. A or M. Ed as prescribed by NCCE regulations.
It will be recalled that Comr Anthony Bissong Attah last December resigned his appointment with the same College citing similar abnormalities : http://www.negroidhaven.org/2018/01/lecturer-disengages-services-with.html?m=1 and the illegal sacking of a former staff of COE despite the Governor's directive : http://www.negroidhaven.org/2017/07/registrar-undermines-gov-ayade.html?m=1
When NegroidHaven made phone calls to the Chairman of the College's Governing Council, Dr Adah in respect of confirming his invitation by EFCC he said : 'let the person —whoever told you, let the person complete the story. Thank you', putting an abrupt end to the phone conversation.
NegroidHaven will acquaint fans with updates on this development.
