The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River state, Saturday, violated a section of Nigeria’s Electoral Act while she conducted her state congress for office of chairman NegroidHaven has learnt.
Particularly, the Electoral Act in section 85, subsection 1 says that a 21 day notification should be given Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the concerned political party prior to her scheduled Congress.
The Act states that, ‘A registered Political party shall give the commission 21 days notice of any convention, Congress. Conference or meeting for the purpose  of electing members of its Executive committee, other governing bodies or nominating candidates for elective offices under this Act’.
Yesterday, Hon Etim John emerged the Chairman beating rival Dr Mathew Achigbe with 56 against 36 votes.
The National Vice Chairman South-South, Mr Hilliard Etta reportedly boycotted the Congress. No INEC official was present to witness the election.

A source has it that accreditation started at 10:45AM and ended by 1PM. Voting commenced by 1:30PM and ended by 2:00PM.

BLOGTORIAL :
The idea of APC CRS violating the country’s Electoral Act seem to be a new dimension to ‘progressiveness’. It’s obvious that there’s still crisis in the CRS Chapter of the APC particularly when Tinubu Bola Ahmed had directed against the Congress. Hmmm!
