As part of efforts to boost the morale of security agencies and encourage them, a firm domiciled in Calabar, Everyhome Integrated Services Limited, manufacturers of various brands of custard, have donated N500, 000 worth of their products to security operatives in the Operation Solomon NegroidHaven can report.
Operation Skolombo, which is made up of men of the Nigeria Army, Navy, Airforce, Police and Civil Defense Corps was set up by Governor Ben Ayade to stem to wave of insecurity and crime in the state.
Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr Ubong Akpan, who made the donation at the premises of the 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Calabar, said the gesture was in appreciation of the efforts of the security agencies.
"We want to appreciate what the security network is doing in the state. We see them on the road everyday in the rain and under the sun.
"We appreciate the considerable calmness their security efforts have achieved. We felt we should associate with them and in our little way tell them thank you for what they have been doing.
"We have our products, we are manufacturers of custard. We have come out with different brands of our products to give to them and the cost of this is valued at about N500, 000.
"We are keenly observing their needs and wherever there is a lacuna, we would try to help out, they are human beings, they need to be encouraged to do more," he said.
