In line with the mandate of her Foundation and determination of the state government to continue to provide the people with better life by bringing improved healthcare services to them, Wife of the Cross River State Governor, Dr (Mrs)  Linda Ayade has taken over the 72 Hours PHC make Over Challenge to renovates Primary Healthcare Centre,  Adagom in Ogoja Local Government Area.

Speaking, Director General of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency,  Dr Betta Edu said the 72 hours Make Over Challenge when executed will change the health facility and in turn provide quality health services to the people living in the area.

According to her most of the people resident at Adagom Community are refugees as the UN refugees and asylum seekers camp is located in the same village. She noted that the facility is in the worst of state as we men deliver on a table supported by blocks and the only hospital bed there is supported by sticks.

There is no water,  no toilet facility, and the drugs supplied to facility are kept on the floor which is completely unacceptable.

Dr Edu said this prompted the action of the First Lady,  Dr Linda Ayade whose NGO Mediatrix Development is working with state Government on Health system strengthening to take the PHC make over challenge which she promised to deliver as part of the 72hrs challenge.

The village chiefs and even the Refugees were elated and thanked the Governor's wife who was represented by the Executive Director of Mediatrix Development Foundation, Mr Jeffrey Adamade for coming to their timely aid.
