Reliable information reaching our news desk suggests that the University of Calabar, UNICAL, will soon commence production of paints of designated sort in commercial quantity NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.
This is the sequel to the approval of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu concerning the request by the Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences for the commencement of commercial production of paint in the institution
The approval is sequel to a letter from the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ayi Ayama Ayi seeking permission to embark on commercial production of paint in the citadel of learning.
In a letter dated 22nd October, 2018, the Dean had intimated the Vice Chancellor of his intention to embark on a large production of paint with the trade name UNICAL BRIGHT PAINT.
He said the different grades of paint to be produced include: Emulsion, text coat, Satin, Matt, Screeding, Oil and gloss paints.
Prof. Ayi said large-scale production of paint in the institution will boost the internally generated revenue of the Faculty and the University at large and also showcase the creative potentials of the institution.
Consequent upon this, the Vice Chancellor assented to the request on the 28th of October, 2018.
