The people of Cross River Central Senatorial District have declared their unwavering support for the governorship aspiration of Senator John Owan Enoh, the senatorial project of Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking at various interactive sessions held across the six local government areas of the Central as part of the APC campaigns in the State, various political, community, women and youth leaders restated their preference for the APC in its mission to rescue Cross River State from the abject misrule of the PDP in the past four years.
The campaigns which took the APC team to Boki (two locations), Obubra (two locations), Etung, Yakurr, Abi and the senatorial grand finale in Ikom on Sunday January 20, 2019 witnessed large turnout of supporters and well wishers of the governorship candidate Senator Enoh and the senatorial candidate Senator Ndoma-Egba and the other candidates of the party. The high point was the defection of the PDP Chapter Women Leader for Ikom LGA and hundreds of women from the party at the Senatorial campaign finale at the PCN School, Ikom. It signaled the inevitable rejection of the PDP at the polls as various speakers recounted how the State has been plunged into a huge mess occasioned by resource mismanagement, embezzlement, lack of focus, governance capacity and a sincerity and commitment to serve the larger interests of Cross Riverians, etc.
In all cases, the response had been the same. The people were firm in their expressions to not only vote all the APC candidates in the coming elections but also actively canvass for support for them from among those whose voting inclinations are still undecided as well moderate PDP followers. The indications are very strong that President Buhari will be massively voted for by the people of Central, Senator Ndoma-Egba will be returned to the Senate while Senator John Enoh has a solid base with which to head to the Government House, Calabar come May 29th 2019 as the next Governor of Cross River State.
