The Cross River State Government CRSG has approved the use of the U. J. Esuene Sports Stadium for the forthcoming political rallies of the presidential candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and the leading opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP NEGROIDHAVEN can report authoritatively.
This approval was made by the Cross River State Sports Commission, managers of the said sporting facility.
The presidential rallies will hold for the APC on Wednesday, 30th January, 2019; and for the PDP on Monday 28 January.
When contacted via social media chat, the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Rt. Hon. Orok Duke who confirmed the development and said that he has discharged his duties as a public officer added that, 'It is a public space. And am a public officer. Two applications came to me…PDP and Atiku for 28/1…and Buhari and APC for 30/1 …so I approved the dates …because they were free.. I have discharged my duty as a public officer…without prejudice.'
NEGROIDHAVEN further learnt that the application was approved within two days.
