PRESS RELEASE: Budget of Quabalistic Densification’: AYADE HAS FURTHER REDUCED C’RIVER TO A LAUGHING STOCK —APC.
All Progressives Congress, APC, Cross River State has described the about ₦1.5 trillion ‘Budget of Quabalistic Densification’ presented by Governor Ben Ayade to the State House of Assembly for approval as unrealistic as it has further reduced the state to a ‘laughing stock’.
The Party’s reaction which came less than 24 hours after the formal presentation of the budget to the Legislature for approval further describes the budget as ‘a product of hallucination.’
The party said ‘last year’s budget tagged ‘Budget of Kinetic Crystallization’ had a total estimate of ₦1.3 trillion while this year’s christened ‘Budget of Quabalistic Densification’ has about N.2trillion variation from last year’s.
In a statement endorsed by its Spokesman, Mr. Bassey Ita, the APC said the budget was ‘severally defective’ as ”it has a semblance of hallucination which in our consideration, is an effect of substance indulgence.”
According the APC, ”The 2019 budget document as presented failed to review the performance of last year’s budget as well as provide for the policy direction of Government in the coming year”
It further stated that the budget did not give a sector –by- sector analysis of the allocation of resources for Cross Riverians to know the areas government was giving priority attention among others.
Besides, the APC said the budget did not consider inputs from various stakeholders including Civil Society Organizations adding that the practice was both clandestine and archaic.
“From the foregoing, there’s every iota of conviction that the current budget as presented by Governor Ayade was defective in every sense of the word. Some persons just woke up one morning and decided to cover the shame of the delay in budget presentation and then commenced the preparation of a draft of what the income and expenditure profile should look like. This is an indication of hallucination which creates an environment of make-believe.”
The statement maintained that last year’s budget was a ‘woeful failure’ as the huge sum of ₦1.3 trillion allocated had no impact on the state’s economy.
“There was nothing tangible to show for the huge fiscal provision for last year. The economy did not get better; infrastructure deficit was still the talk of the town neither was there any semblance of improvement in the living conditions of the people of the State.”
“The Superhighway was still in its groundbreaking stage, the deep seaport was still in the minds of the initiators neither was there any social investment program of note that the PDP government embarked upon from the over N1trillion budget throughout last year.”
The APC describes the 2019 budget as ”Capable of going the way of last year’s having began with serious signs of defectiveness both in terms of presentation and grammatical expression”.
It said “this is the reason we conclude that Governor Ayade has by this singular flawed presentation further exposed the state to ridicule.”
