Suspected serial kidnapper in Bakassi nabbed by Nigerian police… Read details here

A twenty seven years old alleged serial kidnapper in Bakassi LGA popularly referred to as 'Aso Rock' but formally addressed as Mr Michael Okon Edem has been arrested by Anti-Cultism /Kidnapping Squad (ACKS) of the Cross River State Command of the Nigerian Police NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.
This information is contained in the 21st February 2019 press briefing made by the newly posted Commissioner of Police, Mr Austin Agbonlahor, in Calabar, Cross River State capital city. 
According to Commissioner of Police Agbonlahor, the alleged kidnapper Etim was arrested with a locally made pistol sequel to the 18th February kidnap of one Mrs Nta Ekpiken of Ekpri Ikang Village in Bakassi. Agbonlahor who added that officers of ACKS of his command arrested the kidnap kingpin after a tip off assured that the suspect will be charged to court at the completion of investigation.
His words, 'on 18th February 2019 at about 1800hrs, one Mrs Nta Ekpiken of Ekpri Ikang Village, Bakassi Local Government Area, who was returning from her farm and was kidnapped by three gun men and was taken to Nsidung Creek. On tip off, men of Anti-Cultism/Kidnapping Squad Calabar with the help of Bakassi Division and youths of Ekpri Ikang community swung into action where the victim was rescued and one Michael Okon Etim 'm' 27 years was arrested with one locally made pistol. 
'Efforts to arrest other gang members now at large to establish the source of the gun is still on. Suspect will soon be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is completed.'
However, in an interaction with the alleged kidnapper, he confessed to being a former militants under whom he referred to as General Simpli and said it was some young men in the community who actually kidnapped the woman, he only advised them to desist from the activity. Etim has opted to cooperate with the Nigerian police to assist the arrest of the men. 
It will be recalled that veteran OAP, Mr Petertex 'Godfather' Etim kidnapped for over a month in Calabar since January is yet to be released. The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ms Irene Ugbo when queried assured that they are on the case and 'hope to get result very soon'.
