The All Progressives Congress, APC in Cross River State has received a bashing of their life in Calabar, Cross River capital city with the declaration from a People’s Democratic Party, PDP stalwart Tuesday NEGROIDHAVEN has learnt.
The Deputy Speaker of the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly, CRSHA Rt. Hon. Joseph Archibong Bassey asserted to Nigerians in Ward Twelve (12) of Calabar South LGA that the ruling APC does not exist in the State.
Rt. Hon. Bassey said this while campaigning for his re-election into the state legislation to constituents of Calabar South 2 State Constituency particularly those who had converged at
Musaha street, Atamunu Street, Adam Duke Street, Inyang Edem Street, Orok Orok Street, Ekpo Abasi Street particularly CRUTECH Gate, and others.
Bassey eulogised the industrialisation agenda of the incumbent governor of the state and thereby charged the constituents to vote for the second term of Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade. He stressed that the reelection of Ayade will create a balance according to which by 2023 the Southern Senatorial District can vie for the highest political office in the state.
According to the lawmaker, 'I am here to present myself as your own. Don't waste your time with APC, there is no APC in Cross River State, we have APC in Katsina, Borno, etc. The only way out is to vote PDP all the way. Vote for the umbrella party. Don't vote for a party without a candidate: the APC does not have a candidate as at now.'
The Deputy Speaker extended his bashing of Mr Victor Nsa, the All Progressives Congress, APC House of Assembly running against him to represent Calabar South State Constituency 2. He argued that the APC rival isn't fit to be a Honourable Member, 'You must be intelligent enough to be a member of the House of Assembly. The man that wants my seat in the House of Assembly cannot represent us, if I am handing over, it must to be somebody who is more intelligent and finer, it may be a woman or man, but, it can't be that man, he does not have the intellectual capacity to be a legislator, he deals on buying and selling.'
Present at the campaign trail was Elder Emmanuel Effiom the chapter chair of PDP in Calabar South, and other party stalwarts etc.
