Voice of Children Foundation holds medical outreach in northern Cross River

A non-governmental organization, operating from Calabar, the Cross River State capital has held a community health outreaches in some communities in Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State.
The organization,  Voice of Children Foundation which held the outreach at Odajie Mbube, in Ogoja Local Government Area and Monye Yache in Yala Local Government Area conducted free eye care examination and treatment,  free eye care surgeries and the distribution of free reading glasses to persons diagnosed and in need of them. 
The organization also held a mental hygiene and reproductive health session to empower young women and men in the communities.
On her part, the trustee and Community health physician of Voice of Children Foundation, Dr. Ranti Ekpo said the outreach which has been going on around the state was primarily to reach out to the poor and help take care of some of the health needs they would ordinarily not afford or thought of.
Dr. Ranti held that the outreach has been so far successful as the joy with which each community has received the team was a testament to the work they have been carrying out and the expectation of the people.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondent thanked the organization for doing a wonderful job and said they were blessed to have benefited from the outreach.
