About a decade ago, the Peace Eteng the public now knows as Face of Independence Nigeria International queen would have seized to exist.
The beauty queen took to WhatsApp on her birthday, last Wednesday to narrate her untold story of how 10 years ago she was struck by an unknown respiratory ailment that almost sucked life out of her, even as she passed out on comma for 3 weeks and came back to life.
After the WhatsApp status update, Eteng, now 19, in what appeared to be thanksgiving day celebration told our reporter on a telephone conversation what happened to her years back.
She said on that fateful day she ran out of blood and her body began to deteriorate costing her serious weight loss until everyone had almost given up on her.
According to Eteng, "I was in comma for over 3weeks got transferred to so many hospitals."
"Most of them needed blood but my mom and dad refused."
"I was having serious respiratory tract infection, got so lean and couldn't’t smell," the beauty queen narrated.
When asked how she planned to spend her day, Eteng said she had initially asked her parents if she could visit the hospital and donate blood, but her parents, whom she said are very protective of her turned down her suggestion while leaving her open to other plans.
As at the time of fielding this report, Eteng was preparing a visit to children hospital where she will provide items to indigent kids taken to hospital for treatment as part of her gratitude for a second chance of life on earth.
Aside from giving back to society Eteng said she would among other activities "chill, eat and dance at home with family members. Then I will step out with some of my friends to poolside."
Eteng also plans to sing at the karaoke and end her day at the club in Calabar.
The Cross River born model and beauty queen runs Paige Effect, a special effects make up company that offers special effect make up for Nollywood, and initiative she carries out and promotes on her Instagram handle as @paigeeffect.
