Professor Ikpeme A. Ikpeme an orthopedic surgeon Tuesday was appointment as the new Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
Prof. Ikpeme was being presented with a letter of appointment earlier on Tuesday in Abuja by the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole. While presenting the letter, Adewole said that, 'it was my pleasure to present a letter of appointment to Prof Ikpeme A. Ikpeme, the CMD, UCTH after his appointment was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.
'I urge him to collaborate with all stakeholders to endure that the hospital delivers on its mandate'.
A handful of Cross Riverians have congratulated Ikpeme notable amongst which is Princewill Odidi who said, 'The emergence and joy that greeted the announcement of Prof Ikpeme as UCTH Chief Medical Director shows that African people really appreciate change and desire good governance. People are elated because they pray he turns things around. I pray he succeeds and we should also help him succeed. I congratulate him and wish him a successful tenure.'
